Now that the freezing temperatures seem to be over, and winter is quickly coming to an end, enjoy the weekends to take a walk in one of the many fairs and markets organized in Porto.
Saturday, February 24, between 10h and 20h, Cândido dos Reis Street holds Mercadinho dos Clérigos. The second edition of this month’s Mercadinho dos Clérigos offers crafts, clothing, antiques, organic products, books, music, among other items.
Held all through the year, the event takes place every second and last Saturday of each month. Although it depends on favourable weather conditions, access is always free.
Every Sunday, from 10h to 18h during winter, or until 19h in the summer, Mercado da Alegria brings excitement to Passeio Alegre Garden with 65 stands. Even though it also depends on weather conditions, Mercado da Alegria is organized throughout the year, in an initiative supported by the Parishes of Aldoar, Foz do Douro, and Nevogilde. In order to promote the proper use of public spaces and the work done by local artisans, attendance and participation are free, to better show the works of jewellery, fashion accessories, decorative objects, but also to enjoy snacks, jams, cheeses, beverages, among many other products.
From February 23 to 25, from 11h to 19h, takes place the second edition of this month’s Urban Market, with free attendance. The market uses the space of Hard Club, former Ferreira Borges Market.
Urban Market, celebrating its sixth anniversary, organized by Portugal Lovers with the support of the Porto City Hall, promotes designer projects in the areas of product design, fashion design, illustration, jewellery, gastronomy, music, among others. In addition to stands with these items, Urban Market offers music and live haircuts.
